Realizing the Need

I have been laid off now for 7 months plus.  The only jobs available are for entry level and starting at 1/2 my typical last wage.  I am the breadwinner in this house, my husband is retired and somewhat disabled and on Social Security.  We cannot live on what he is getting.  I have answered many requests for updated resumes.  Would my resume not be updated?  Yes, I can alter it towards a specific client, but all the data is the same.  I wonder why so many requests are from companies that want telecommunication workers, where is that mentioned in my resume?  Yes, I do have experience with the telephone, like everyone, there is nothing in my resume that states that...

Since I have been senior in my field all these years and there is no job for me now, must I look for a new career?  I say yes, based on the current lack of decent positions available.  My last interview was quite detailed. I try to be upfront and find out the location from where I live but the recruiters seldom like to play that game, I asked what region the job was in and the guy did not know what I meant?!?!?  Oh, my!  I think that should be a priority, job location and basic wage, do you agree? Then if those are fine, get on with the interview.  I also see a lot of errors in the job post.  Conflicting information, should I mention it to them or ignore it?
